MY INSPIRATION

My first son, Okke, is my inspiration for TUBABOS. He was diagnosed with Bohring-Opitz Syndrome (BOS) and dependent on a feeding tube for nutrition. We couldn’t change that but he teaches us to face his condition on a positive way. Life is so precious and we have to live it to the fullest.

Bohring-Opitz Syndrome is a rare congenital disorder with worldwide less than 60 children documented. April 6th is Bohring-Opitz Syndrome Awareness Day and the awareness colours are denim and gold with a little diamond to honor all our children who became wings too early. » read more about Bohring-Opitz Syndrome Awareness.

   MY MISSION

I like to paint and to sit behind the sewing machine, always looking for creative, beautiful and convenient solutions.  I often created adapted toys, clothing and accessories for my son Okke. Okke has become five years old. In all those years we have received lots of love, support and help from family, friends, professionals and from the international BOS family. I learned a lot.

Therefore I designed these unique TUBABOS to support and to raise awareness for Bohring-Opitz Syndrome and to give back a little smile and some happiness for everyday to BOS children and their families and friends as thank. But only for children with Bohring-Opitz syndrome, but also for all the children and (young adults) who are dependent on tube feeding.

They deserve something special … because they are special!
